My imPORTant Tanning Problem

So since it's spring break, and I can't actually go any where near the water because of my port, I decided I was going to tan at home.   Simple enough for the most part, but for starters, I was not even sure I was allowed to tan with my port, and couldn't find anything about it online!
And to make life increasingly difficult, fI am not really allowed to sweat because it can cause my port dressing to become unsterile.  So the game I have been playing is, tan until you get hot, then cool off somehow, and then try tanning again.  Thankfully it hasn't been too hot outside, but it really does make tanning a lot more difficult when you aren't really allowed to sweat.  But getting tan was basically my one goal for break, so I figured I should probably figure out how to do it!
Now I am going to be honest, I have tanned both outdoors and at the salon, and besides from the no sweating thing, tanning is basically the same with a port.  Oh, except for the fact that the dressing for the port, may leave a tan line.  Too late for that one, I thought since it was clear that it wouldn't be a problem, but I guess I was wrong.
As long as I have the port assessed and dressed it won't be a problem, but when I am not accessed and don't have a dressing on my port, I think I am probably going to have a very odd looking tan line.  Oops, oh well, what can you do about it.  Anyways, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to tan with my port, but I decided to try anyways, and I now know, that although it is slightly more difficult to do, I definitely can tan with my port!
Although this is a minor victory, it is something that has made my spring break a lot more enjoyable in my not so normal life!

I've got 8 scars and am missing two feet of intestines and my life isn't normal, but whose life is normal?  I want to use my experiences to help you, even if it means sharing embarrassing experiences. I am also looking to break the stigmas associated with IBD in order to make living with IBD just a little bit easier. Hope you enjoy!
